Heart of Scotland Herb Society - Home
Who are We ?
Started in 1999 by two friends with a passionate interest in herbs inviting others to join them, we are now a thriving, enthusiastic group, affiliated to the Royal Horticultural Society and associated with the National Herb Society of Great Britain.
What do We do ?
Regular meetings are arranged for herb-related talks and demonstrations throughout the winter, followed by summer outings and garden visits.
Where are We ?
The Society is centred on the pleasant market town of Aberfeldy in Highland Perthshire. Our members come from a wide surrounding area, meeting regularly at many varied and interesting local venues.
What are our Interests ?
Our interests are wide-ranging and varied - from cooking, gardening, herbal remedies, home crafts, beauty products to wine-making, willow-work, wild-crafting, and much more.
Working with local Projects
At Pitnacree
with local herbalist, Jacqui Hazzard (MNIHS),
helping to tend her permaculture garden,
benefiting from her experience and enjoying
our quiet willow arbour corner.
At The Scottish Plant
Collectors' Garden
situated at the Pitlochry
Festival Theatre, where our
Society helps to maintain a
border on the winding
approach to the garden.
The beautifully crafted
copper 'Foxglove' sculpture
inside the main gateway was
donated by our group, funded
by sales of our own Society
cook book.
Visitors are always welcome
