Terms and Conditions
of McLaren Leisure Centre Memberships
Please read and agree to these terms and conditions by signing and dating the form that can be downloaded at the bottom of this page. This means that you accept the contents and agree to be bound by the terms contained therein. The McLaren Leisure Centre is referred to below as the centre. Do not hesitate to contact us if you have any queries.
Categories of Membership
All-Inclusive, Fitness Suite, Single Activity, Junior Single Activity.
Membership Fees
Annual fees can be paid in one lump sum by cash, cheque, and credit or debit card. Fees paid monthly by direct debit will continue until you confirm cancellation in writing, giving us at least one month’s notice, otherwise we will deduct the current month’s fee. Members will be notified of any change in fees at least 14 days in advance.
General Conditions
1/ Please note that there are times when McLaren High School has priority use of the centre. Times will be published clearly at the centre, or may be obtained from the manager.
2/ Members will agree to abide by the operational practices of the centre and heed any reasonable request by staff.
3/ Membership cards must be swiped at reception upon every visit.
4/ A responsible adult must accompany children under 8 years of age into the swimming pool and must remain with them in the pool at all times. The ratio for admittance into the swimming pool for children is 1 adult to 2 children of age 4-8 years or 1 child under the age of 4 years.
5/ Cancellations within 24 hours may be charged in full.
6/ Fees must be paid for all bookings at the time of activity
7/ Membership fees do not include the cost of lockers which require a refundable 20p coin.
8/ Memberships are not transferable. Membership cards must only be used by the named member.
9/ Replacement cards will be charge for.
10/ All member’s personal information is stored according to Data Protection Act 1998.
11/ The manager reserves the right to withdraw membership from those who do not comply with these conditions.
12/ Due to the need for repair, maintenance, or replacement of parts of the building or equipment, it will be necessary from time to time to close areas of the building to members and no refund will be given. We will endeavour to inform members with as much notice as possible.
Health and Fitness Programme
1/ All new members who wish to use the fitness suite are required to make an appointment with a fitness instructor in order that an assessment of your health can be made. This will include an induction into the safe use of the equipment and the prescription of a suitable exercise programme.
2/ The member must inform the centre about any change to the information initially supplied.
3/ In certain circumstances, staff at the centre may require additional information from your GP, in order that a correct and safe exercise programme can be prescribed. In such circumstances the member will be asked to obtain, at his / her own expense, the required information in writing.
